Job Summary:
The Assistant General Manager is the right hand to the General Manager in managing the day-to-day operations delivering superior guest service and leading the team. Reporting to the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager is knowledgeable in all facets of the operations. He/she will manage the team and carry out tasks, projects and duties in all areas of the operations. In absence of the General Manager, steps into the full General Manager role.

The “Dream work is in the Team work!” As a Marina team member, you will be cross trained to perform a variety of tasks across our Marina operations. Being flexible and open to “pitching in” is an essential function of being part of the team! Most marina team members are multi-functional and perform many varied tasks. Especially during emergencies, (storms, floods, etc.) or peak boating times, team members will be called upon to work together and perform functions that may be in addition to their normal job duties. “That’s not my Job”, is not within our Marina operations vocabulary. The more well-rounded the team member, the more opportunities to grow and be considered for future opportunities!
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Leads by example and exemplifies Integra culture and core values.
• Motivates and encourages team members to do their best every day.
• Assigns tasks and duties ; helps to prioritize and ensure that tasks are carried out.
• Staff are well trained and are clear on their goals and responsibilities.
• Ensures SOPs and protocols are followed by the team.
• Provides corrective action and ongoing coaching; communicates challenges to General Manager for appropriate performance management strategies
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Conducts daily walk through of the Marina for cleanliness , safety, equipment and general areas and follow up with the team to delegate and assign follow up tasks.
• Handles daily boater and visitor interactions, inquiries and concerns.
• Ensures staff are in their respective work areas and carrying out assignments.
• May work on various administrative functions such as inventory management, reservations management, report administration, time and attendance and payroll management.
• May assist with selection and hiring of new staff.
• Attends required meeting and lead meetings when needed.
• Assists with emergency management in case of storms , flooding or inclement weather and helps with preparations to ensure safety of boaters ,visitors and employees
• Coordinates with sales and marketing initiatives ; may be asked to work on event management or attend trade shows or boating events to promote the Marina.
• Maintains an open line of communication with the General Manager and the entire team
• Ensuring each slip holder’s file is maintained, containing a signed contract and insurance; Provide renewals to customers.
• Ensure transient reservations, arrivals, departures, and stays are well managed and meet customer expectations.
• Maintain positive relationships with tenants, contractors, and local authorities
• Comply with OSHA, EPA, DEEP and Department of Labor rules and regulations
• Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
All other duties perform all other duties as assigned, including carrying out responsibilities, performing duties, using skills, and working in conditions necessary to perform all assigned tasks.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality or related preferred
• At least 3 years of Marina operations experience and 2 years of supervisory experience
• A combination of education/experience
• Skills in marina operations, boating and knowledge of marina equipment
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Must possess a valid DL and current auto insurance; must pass insurance DMV clearance
• Ability to participate and manage the sales, leasing, and contract management for all revenue streams including but not limited to dockage, storage, retail, and service.
• Ability to monitor and track accounts receivable and create collection plans.
• Skill in preparing annual operating budget.
• Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Work may be performed outdoors in inclement weather
• Use of computer and office equipment
• Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.
Work Schedule:
Marinas are opened seven days a week typically from morning to sunset. We strive to provide flexibility, whenever possible, and at the same time we must be able to maintain adequate staffing to meet the needs of our guests. Please note that working full or partial weekends is required.
