Job Details Job Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain procurement strategies that balance quality, cost, and supply continuity.
Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess that could impact production schedules.
Oversee the procurement of raw materials, packaging, and other supplies needed for daily operations.
Coordinate with suppliers to negotiate prices and terms that align with budgetary constraints and quality standards.
Supervise receiving procedures to ensure that materials received meet specifications.
Work closely with the production team to forecast needs and plan material requirements.
Implement and maintain controls and documentation procedures to comply with food safety and quality standards.
Monitor supplier performance and develop improvement plans to increase supply chain efficiency.
Collaborate with other managers and stakeholders to ensure that the plant's material needs are met promptly and cost-effectively.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Materials Manager in a food processing or manufacturing environment, preferably in meat processing.
Strong understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms.
Familiarity with food industry standards and regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and food safety compliance.
Ability to lead and manage a team, ensuring effective communication and operational efficiency.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
