Job Summary
Alluvionic is seeking an  OSHA Focused - Environmental Health & Safety Specialist  to support the Management Support Division (MSD), Office of Construction Management (OCM), and Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) Branch at the United States Marshals Service (USMS) in Arlington, Virginia. The specialist will support all USMS facilities and employees nationwide.

Clearance Required : Yes – Obtain a Public Trust
Travel is Required:  As Needed 0-10%
*This is an onsite position.*

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 yearly

Responsibilities :
  • Assist with USMS Environmental, Occupational Safety, and Health issues (fire evacuation, asbestos, noise, lead, bloodborne pathogens (BBP)
  • Assist with OSHA record keeping, hazard communication (HACOM), internal inspections, materials handling, ergonomics, indoor air quality (IAQ)/mold, hearing conservation, OSHA compliance inspections, respiratory protection, hazardous/non-hazardous waste, etc.)
  • Assist with developing policies, procedures, and reports.
  • Maintain spreadsheets and coordinate work activities as directed.
  • Participate in environmental data calls such as, but not limited to, (hazardous/non-haz waste, green energy, greenhouse gas, green purchasing, metering, sustainability, climate change, fossil fuel alternatives, electric vehicles, etc.), and disseminate information to USMS staff and management
  • Coordinate with contracted consultants for lab testing, dosimetry testing, IAQ investigations, and other EOSH-related subject matter expertise

Required Qualifications :

  • Undergraduate Degree: Major study -- safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene), or degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study from among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology.
  • 5 years of experience relevant to the responsibilities listed above.
  • OSHA Level 30 certification is required.
  • Automated External Defibrillator and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Program (AED/CPR) certification is required.
  • Superior time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal employees as well as
  • outside sources
  • Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to change.
  • Ability to embrace new systems and process enhancements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior work experience with GSA or Army Corps of Engineers
