The Security Monitor plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of personnel, facilities, and assets within the organization. This position involves implementing security measures, conducting risk assessments, and responding to security incidents to mitigate potential threats.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Security and Surveillance:
o Overseeing facility access and guarding property.
o Assisting staff during emergencies like fights, runaways, and accidents.
o Using surveillance systems to monitor the facility and grounds.
o Keeping a log of everyone who enters and exits the premises.
o Conducting security walkthroughs to spot and address safety issues.
o Responding to alarms and warning visitors about rule violations.
o Preventing unauthorized entry onto the property.
o Reporting safety concerns to program leadership.
o Contacting first responders during emergencies.
o Inspecting vehicles for damages, ensuring operational lights, checking tire pressure, and
monitoring for warning signals on dashboards.
o Keeping vehicle logs, ensuring vehicles are clean, fueled, and storing gas receipts properly.
•Support and Maintenance:
o Providing courteous assistance to contractors, third-party agencies, employees, and
visitors.
o Assist with oversight of children during recreation, meals, and relaxation times while
building positive rapport.
o Keeping the facility and vehicles safe, clean, and well-maintained, including performing
general cleaning and maintenance tasks.
o Submitting Significant Incident Reports (SIRs) as required by ORR, state licensing, and
VisionQuest policies.
o Assisting in evacuations due to emergencies like inclement weather or natural disasters.
o Training new hires on their role responsibilities.
o Attending required departmental, all-staff, and training meetings to stay informed on
policy changes or practices.
o Following Occupational Health and Safety protocols and supporting service integration
and program improvements.
o Ensuring effective communication and coordination with the management team.
•Performing other tasks as assigned by supervisors.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
•High school diploma or general equivalent degree.
•A minimum of 1 year security monitoring experience is preferred.
•Valid Guard Certification is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Must be 21 years of age or older.
•Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
•Flexible schedule (evening, weekends, holidays) to facilitate program services.
•Cleared tuberculosis test results.
•Must be able to pass a drug test.
•Must be able to provide proof of required vaccinations.
•Cleared background checks from appropriate entities, including Child Abuse and Neglect and FBI criminal background.
•Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification.
•Must have a valid driver's license and be eligible to drive to facilitate program services as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
•May lift and carry up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds
infrequently.
•Performs tasks that may involve standing or walking 50% of the day; sitting 50%of the day.
•May bend, stoop, reach and grasp as necessary.
•Must be able to provide First Aid and CPR.
•Must be able to perform physical holds as instructed in Crisis Prevention Intervention training
(CPI).
The pay range for this role is:
22.10 - 22.10 USD per hour (884 Sam Mahan Center) VQ
